Kairos – “the exact critical moment. Mythic time. Syncronicity.”

Welcome to Kairos Effect Music!
Hi! I’m Chris Sargent. In 2023 I left a 20-year career, burned out and tired of feeling like my work had no purpose. After a period of intense training and deep personal healing, I am an emotional and intergenerational healer and breathwork facilitator. This was a huge change for my life and my emotional health, one that I am grateful to have made.
But through my entire life, one thing has been solidly present – music. Whether playing guitar and singing in bar bands, doing live sound, or creating my own music, music has been part of my life, and at my lowest points, it has saved my life.
I created Kairos Effect Music because music wants to be a part of my work as a healer. My interest in electronic music has been with me since I was in my 20’s, so what better way for me to connect the things that bring me joy than creating music that heals.
I released my first EP, “There is Hope,” in May of 2026 and I am continuing to explore the amazing creative landscape of ambient music. I hope you’ll join me!
Making Art is Important, Now More Than Ever
Let’s be honest. The world is pretty fucked up right now, particularly in the U S of A. Our culture of consumption and “the grind” has us consuming constantly but rarely creating. Humans were made to create.
Creation is a sacred right.
We were made to work with our hands, whether that’s physical labor or coding, and art is one of the most exceptional examples of creation. But art doesn’t really mesh well with capitalism. Art does not directly contribute to the machine, unless it’s part of the online algorithm. Notice how art has been systematically driven out of our schools. Once it was a valued part of our education, now it is viewed as a waste of precious money.
The Colonial Capitalist playbook of assimilation often targets a culture’s art by making it a crime to create. This happened to my Scots-Irish ancestors, and my American ancestors did this to the indigenous population of what we call North America using the same playbook. Taking away a culture’s art is an assault. Where my ancestors once revered the Bards, now we view art as hobby, not as an acceptable way to live. And so it is in this time of great upheaval that we need to reclaim our sacred rights.
It is a sacred right for us to be able to create, and so we must treat it that way by allowing the space in our lives for creation (no matter how small). Allowing our creative processes to be what they are (without judgement) and most of all, allowing ourselves to make bad art as we grow. This means practicing art. It means using our hands. No AI. No self-judgement. Just the sacred act of creation.
Art is sacred. Art is healing. Art is resistance.
